High employee satisfaction is set to rise even further among Tellus Group employees

Published: May 20, 2024

Employees at Tellusgruppen AB (publ.) feel that they are growing professionally and that there is room for their own learning. Satisfaction levels are consistently very high, with only minor variations between departments. The response rate has increased to 90%, thanks to the systematic work on the work environment that is being implemented. These are the results of the spring employee survey sent out to Tellusgruppen’s 541 full-time employees.

“It’s great to see that our employees feel such a strong sense of commitment and pride in their work. In recent years, we’ve grown rapidly, launched new operations, and acquired companies that have become integral parts of our organization. These rapid changes, which require adaptability and flexibility, would not have been possible without the strong commitment of our entire staff,” says Bijan Fahimi, CEO of the Tellus Group.

The Employee Survey: A Tool for Improvement
Once per quarter, the Tellus Group conducts an employee survey, which serves as an important tool at every workplace and unit for analyzing their own work environment and identifying potential areas for improvement. All work teams set their own development goals based on the survey results. The spring survey was completed by 90% of employees, which is a significant improvement compared to the last survey. The assessment is that this is due to the systematic approach where each unit analyzes its results and agrees on local development goals.

High levels of employee engagement and positive ratings for the organization
The survey shows that employees feel motivated in their work and that there are clear goals in the workplace. In response to the question “I feel motivated in my work,” the average score is 8.0 on a 10-point scale. Employees highlight the supportive culture, opportunities for professional development, and hands-on leadership as some of the key factors behind their satisfaction.
The overall average score for questions related to Work Organization is 8.3 (an increase from 8.1). The overall score for questions related to Workload and Demands is 7.3 (an increase from 7.2).

Supportive leadership and autonomy
Another important aspect highlighted in the survey is the results regarding open communication and supportive leadership. The statement “My manager is present and visible in the workplace” received an average score of 8.2, and the statement “My manager handles conflicts well” received an average score of 8.1. In addition, employees feel that their manager encourages participation (8.3), which is one of the key factors for increased motivation and engagement at work.
The overall average score for questions related to Leadership is 8.2 (an increase from 8.1). The overall average score for questions related to Support is 8.6 (unchanged). The overall average score for questions related to Autonomy and Control is 8.6 (unchanged).

Clear improvement in the area of recovery
In the previous employee survey, conducted in the fall of 2023, results from several workplaces indicated that issues related to recovery needed improvement. Through various initiatives developed by employees and managers, the average score in this area has now increased by 0.6. In elementary schools, the questions “I have the opportunity to work at a slower pace after work-intensive periods” and “I still have energy left to do other things after the workday ends” have increased by 1.0 in average score. This improvement shows that the systematic use of the survey as a tool is yielding results. However, opportunities for recovery remain an identified area for improvement.

The overall average score for questions related to Key Health Factors is 8.1 (unchanged). The overall average score for questions related to Recovery is 7.5 (an increase from 6.9). The overall average score for questions related to Knowledge and Development is 8.6 (an increase from 8.3).
The response rate was 90%, which is a significant increase from the fall survey, when 77% responded. The feedback from the survey will be analyzed to identify areas for further improvement at each workplace.
