Tellusbarn is launching four service profiles and opening two new locations

Published: May 4, 2022

To meet the demand and cater to the wide range of preferences among parents and guardians, as well as to address the varying needs of children, Tellusbarn is now launching four distinct program profiles for its preschools. At the same time, two new locations are opening: one in Upplands Väsby and one in Österåker.

The differences in demand from parents and guardians stem from the fact that Tellusbarn operates in residential areas with varying socioeconomic conditions and widely differing built environments.

“With operations in 27 preschools, it has become increasingly clear that differences in children’s needs and circumstances, as well as the wishes of their guardians, make it necessary for us to clarify and expand our offerings,” says Bijan Fahimi, CEO of the Tellus Group.

“Society is becoming increasingly diverse, which affects the preferences and circumstances of parents and staff. In our view, the ability to address this growing diversity will become increasingly important. In addition, the different focuses of the businesses we have acquired have fostered the emergence of a variety of profiles and broadened our offering,” says Fahimi.

“At the same time, we’re opening two new facilities,” he continues. The Smedby Cultural Preschool in Upplands Väsby, with 100 spots, has already begun operations, and the Svartgarn Outdoor Preschool in Österåker, with the same number of spots, will open its doors in the fall semester.

To address and build on this trend and create a clear overall vision, Tellusbarn has grouped its preschools into four distinct programs:

  • Cultural preschools: 10 locations
  • Outdoor preschools: 6 locations
  • Bilingual preschools: 6 locations
  • Key preschools: 5 locations.

With clear profiles, preschools can pool their resources and focus their efforts on a specific offering, thereby developing their programs in a clear and structured way. With a variety of distinct profiles across Tellusbarn’s preschools, the range of offerings will become even more diverse and attractive—not only to parents and guardians but also to current and future employees.

In 2022, Tellusbarn will expand with two new preschools. Growth will accelerate further next year with the addition of more new locations. The launch of the four program profiles will enable Tellusbarn and the Tellus Group to combine rapid growth with the ability to tailor their operations to local conditions.

Brief description of the preschools' programs

Cultural Preschools

Tellusbarn cultural preschools focus on music, creativity, and drama. Children are able to express their creativity in every conceivable way. Here, the creative process itself is what matters most. It sparks the children’s curiosity, leading to new discoveries and encouraging interaction and imagination.

Outdoor preschools

Spending time in nature on a regular basis fosters an interest in and understanding of nature, plants, and animals from an early age. Many of the experiences that children at outdoor preschools have therefore take place in and through nature.

Bilingual preschools

Language is a child’s primary tool for communicating, thinking, and learning. In our bilingual preschools, we nurture children’s desire and curiosity to acquire a second language. We aim to empower children by creating an environment where language, identity, and learning come together as a whole.

Key Preschools

Many children at Tellusbarn’s preschools speak a language other than Swedish as their first language. That is why we at the Key Preschools are constantly working to adapt our methods to give the children a solid foundation in the Swedish language. This provides the children with one of the most important keys to integrating into Swedish society.
