The Tellus Group has been granted new school licenses by the Swedish Schools Inspectorate

Published: October 20, 2021

The Tellus Group has received approval from the Swedish Schools Inspectorate to open new schools, creating new opportunities for the growing school group.

“This is a strong endorsement of our company,” says Bijan Fahimi, CEO of the Tellus Group. “The Swedish Schools Inspectorate is very selective when it comes to granting new school licenses. The fact that we have now received three new licenses shows that the Inspectorate considers us a reputable organization with a secure and stable foundation.”

Two of the elementary schools will open as early as the fall semester of 2022 and will be integrated with two of the Tellus Group’s existing preschools.

“Having both preschool and elementary school in the same building—and using the same educational approach—creates a sense of continuity and security, both for the children who attend our programs and for their parents and guardians,” says CEO Bijan Fahimi. “This way, the transition from preschool to elementary school isn’t so drastic; instead, we create a natural progression.”

The new elementary schools will operate under two different models.

In Österåker, the Robinson Explorer elementary school is opening alongside the Explorer preschool. The program has a clear focus on outdoor activities and is run according to the existing Robinson concept, which was launched back in 1997.

In Upplands Bro, the new Tellusskolan Tibble will be an elementary school with a clear academic focus on core subjects, such as Swedish and mathematics, alongside arts and creative subjects like drama, music, and the visual arts.

The third and final school permit concerns Enköping, where longer-term discussions are underway regarding a potential F-5 school, which, if established, would become the company’s fifth elementary school in the municipality.
