The Tellus Group is expanding its catering services and opening the Tellusfood restaurant at 22 Kungsgatan in Linköping

Published: April 11, 2024

On Thursday, April 11, the Tellus Group will officially open the Tellusfood restaurant at Kungsgatan 22 in Linköping. Kungsgatan 22 is part of the Tellus Group’s broader initiative to improve the quality of food and dining experiences at the establishments to which the Tellus Group provides catering services. It will also mark the start of the Tellus Group’s goal to expand its catering services to other businesses.

“The restaurant is part of a comprehensive concept where we prepare and deliver food, and design dining areas and service kitchens. This may also include interior design, scheduling, and staffing,” says Bijan Fahimi, CEO of Tellusgruppen.

Tellusfood is a business unit within the Tellus Group that was established in December 2023. Tellusfood has six production kitchens in the Stockholm area and one kitchen with a restaurant in Linköping. The restaurant serves as the school cafeteria for the company’s own elementary school, Thea, and is also open to the public. Every day, Tellusfood prepares approximately 4,500 meals for both the company’s more than thirty preschools and schools and for external customers.

“Nutritious and sustainable food is essential for children and students to thrive and stay healthy. Reports show that municipalities are being forced to cut their food budgets; we, on the other hand, want to invest more in nutrition,” says Bijan Fahimi, CEO of the Tellus Group.

– With Tellusfood, the Group can reduce transportation costs and also achieve economies of scale through centralized purchasing. At Tellusfood, we have dedicated chefs and key personnel who are skilled in purchasing and logistics, which benefits all of the Tellus Group’s operations.

In addition to supplying food to the company’s existing operations, Tellusfood also offers meal services to external customers in schools, preschools, senior care facilities, staff cafeterias, and more.

“The response to Kungsgatan 22 has been very positive; we see significant opportunities for growth in this segment,” says Bijan Fahimi, CEO of Tellusgruppen.
