Tellus School Robinson Vårfru is moving to new premises – a step toward an inspiring and sustainable school environment

Published: November 1, 2024

Tellusskolan Robinson Vårfru, for grades 6 through 9, is moving to new, spacious facilities at Sandbrogatan 2d in Enköping, effective November 4. Following the extensive water damage in the summer of 2023, classes have been held at several different locations. Now, students and staff are once again coming together under one roof in an inspiring environment.

The spacious facilities, formerly Westerlundska High School, offer an excellent learning environment with easy access to sports fields, the water park, and a large courtyard—ideal for outdoor classes and group activities. With these resources, Robinson strengthens its outdoor education program and creates a dynamic school day that focuses on students’ physical and mental development. In addition, the school is centrally located, making it easy for students to get to school by bus from anywhere in the municipality.

Principal Helena Petersson sees the move as a fresh start:

“It feels wonderful to welcome our students to a place with functional facilities and a safe learning environment. The new facilities will help foster a greater sense of well-being and community. We’re all looking forward to it! Teaching in various temporary locations has been challenging, but now we’re all together again under one roof.”

“I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the parents who have supported their children by encouraging them during this challenging time, as well as to the municipality for its solution-oriented approach. The staff’s dedication has been exceptional since the water damage occurred, and despite the challenges posed by the various temporary locations, instruction has continued to be of high quality and has fostered close relationships with the students,” says Principal Helena Pettersson.

An open house will be held at the start of the spring semester to celebrate the move, where parents, students, and interested members of the public can explore the new facilities and get a glimpse of our plans for the future.

The new facilities provide Tellusskolan with opportunities to further develop educational concepts related to experiential learning and outdoor education. The new learning environment provides space to work in accordance with the Robinson profile, offering educational challenges, diverse teaching methods, and inspiring interactions with students—all to support their learning and fully develop their thinking.
