Ulrika Forsström Appointed New Head of Schools and Development at Tellusgruppen

Today, Ulrika Forsström assumes the position of Director of Schools and Development at the Tellus Group. She will also join the Tellus Group’s executive team. Ulrika most recently served as Director of Children and Education for the Municipality of Gällivare.
“I will focus on both educational development and business development to drive long-term growth and success for the group. I look forward to working with our principals and staff to create a safe and stimulating environment for all students,” says Ulrika Forsström.
In addition to her work with the municipality of Gällivare, Ulrika Forsström has also served as an educational advisor at the Swedish National Agency for Education, and has worked in several other municipalities as an elementary school teacher, principal, and superintendent.
– My background as a teacher, principal, and school superintendent gives me a good understanding of the challenges our staff face and how we can best work together to address them. I also know that it takes time to develop and improve our operations, and that achieving good results requires patience and a long-term perspective.
As head of elementary schools at Tellusskolan, Ulrika will have overall responsibility for quality and development issues.
– A school where students thrive and achieve their goals is largely about creating an environment where they feel seen and valued. When we build strong relationships and provide instruction that is just the right level of challenge, students grow both as individuals and as learners.
– Improving students’ reading comprehension and fostering a love of reading are among the most important issues facing Swedish schools today. We must reverse the trend of declining literacy and interest in reading. “We are working to give students the tools and inspiration to read more. At the same time, we need to reduce sedentary behavior and screen time, strengthen digital literacy, and promote democratic engagement within the framework of a holistic approach to public health,” says Ulrika Forsström.
Ulrika Forsström is replacing Richard Bengtsson, who is currently serving as acting superintendent.
